Free tunes! Dragon Age’s best is available for download now

BioWare has released a special compilation of Dragon Age: Inquisition’s Tavern Songs. And the best part is that it’s for free.

A ten-pack of Skyhold’s best tavern tunes is included in the new set of audio downloads released by Dragon Age developer BioWare this week. Performed by singer/songwriter Elizaveta, and written by composer Raney Shockne, the songs have become some of the best known parts of Dragon Age’s world thanks to the massively popular Dragon Age: Inquisition, which saw release this past Holiday Season.

Normally, you’d have to stride into Skyhold Tavern to sit and enjoy a cold one while the relaxing sounds of the traveling bards assail you with songs of “triumph and tragedy”, but now you’ll be able to do the same in the comfort of, well, just about anywhere thanks to this digital release. The pack contains not only the actual tunes, but also the sheet music. And that means you’ll be able to record your own versions of the songs.

And wouldn’t you know it, BioWare wants to hear them. The company is holding a special competition right now where you can do just that, record your own tracks, and then submit them to the Fan Celebration Contest page. You can also send in art, videos, cosplay, and anything else Dragon Age for some pretty awesome prizes including an Xbox One prize package, and a poster signed by the development team.

As for those tunes themselves, you can grab them for free till the 9th of February right here. After that, they’ll be on the way to popular digital download storefronts where they’ll be available for sale. So if you want them for free, get ’em now. And if you want the chance to win some awesome stuff, get on that contest!
