Marvel announces one box set to rule them all

Some of the most classic and landmark stories of the Marvel Universe are about to see a collection unlike any other in Marvel Famous Firsts.

Yes, the box is designed to look like the iconic version of Avengers Mansion form the 80s/90s. For that alone, this set is worth owning. Of course, you’re going to get a lot more for your money than just a box, no matter how cool it may be.

Inside that case, is a collection of eleven Marvel Masterwork hardcovers that laid the foundation for the Marvel of today. Interestingly enough, Marvel has this set listed as ten books, but there are clearly eleven counted in the box. Regardless of numerical errors rethought, there are huge tales here, featuring some of the biggest Marvel superheroes of all time and all presented in hardcover format.

Marvel Famous Firsts: 75Th Anniversary Masterworks Slipcase Set is set to hit retail this week, on September 3rd, and is currently listed for $500.00 USD and is going for $450.00 at Barnes and Noble, and $300.00 on Amazon. My guess is that it’ll be retailing for around MSRP at you local comics shop, though your mileage may vary.
