Beta signups kick off for The Witcher Battle Arena

The Witcher-infused MOBA from CD Projekt Red and Fuero Games is almost here. But the Android beta program is even closer.

“We are extremely passionate about games, whether they be for PC, console or mobile devices. The Witcher Battle Arena is our take on the MOBA genre and we are really excited at the prospect of sharing it with the gaming community! We highly value fans of The Witcher, and their opinions have always been paramount in helping us develop a great gaming experience–The Witcher Battle Arena is no exception! Sign up for the soon-to-commence closed beta now and, once you’ve had a chance to play around with it, share your thoughts – we’re really eager to hear what you have to say!” saidBenjamin Lee, Producer for Mobile Games, CD PROJEKT RED. “It doesn’t matter if you’re new to MOBA games or The Witcher universe, we’ve made a lot of effort to create a fun experience for everyone,” added Lee.

More than a little holdover tip The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt arrives in February, The Witcher Battle Arena actually looks like a MOBA that’s worth your time. Now, that might have a little something to do with the fact that there are Witcher Universe characters in the game. In any event, it definitely doesn’t hurt, as The Witcher have definitely found a pretty massive fan base across the life of the series.

As with most betas, this one has the goal of helping CD Projekt Red and Fuero Games perfect the gameplay, feature-set, and netcode. Players who gain entry into the beta program will be able to play as 8 different characters in a pair of maps in the game’s Conquest Mode. Though your gameplay possibilities will be somewhat limited for now, you will be able to develop your character in a process that’s described as being RPG-like, which sounds pretty darn cool.

The Witcher Battle Arena is set to arrive on iOS, Android, and Windows Phone later this year. As for the beta, you can click here for more info, or to throw your hat into the ring for an invite.
