Sega brings back the terror to the Alien universe with Alien: Isolation.
Alien: Isolation continues to be one to watch closely as it has all the trappings of a very special experience for Alien and general horror fans. From the burning synth (I’m gonna guess that was a synth anyway) to the reborn Big Chap himself, Isolation looks like the Alien game that fans have been not-so quietly waiting for since… well, forever.
There really isn’t the best of histories for the brand and video games after all. Most Alien titles have either been straight-up action affairs against hordes of xenos, or mix-ups with the Predator series of films, of which Aliens often crosses over with in the comics and movies. Isolation is so exciting for fans though, precisely because it’s a pure Alien title, and one not diluted with action and colonial marines (not that I dislike those characters at all). It’s horror, pure and simple. Creeping, slobbering, murdering horror.
Alien: Isolation hits real for the Xbox One/360, PS4/3, and PC just before Halloween, on October 7th.
