Batman: Arkham Origins has a Cold, Cold Heart today

The story add-on, which introduces the origin of Mr. Freeze in the ‘Arkham’ universe, is now live and ready for download. Click through for the launch trailer and details.

Taking place on New Year’s Eve, after the main Arkham Origins narrative, Cold, Cold Heart sets the Dark Knight on a mission to stop the rampage of a newly revealed (and cryo-powered) Dr. Victor Fries as he plots to take out his enemies that he blames for his ‘condition’. It’s a big and loaded DLC pack that not only includes the massive story add-on, but also a new suit for Batman (the Extreme Environment [XE] suit), new thermally-charged weapons, and new enemies that are packing freeze weapons, just like their boss.

Warner Bros is promising “hours of new story content” with this one, which has is almost feeling like a mini-sequel to last year’s Batman: Arkham Origins. I can’t get enough of well-crafted, robust single-player DLC and Cold, Cold Heart certainly looks like it fits the bill nicely in those regards. It’s also the chacne to play through the origin of one of the most interesting of the Batman villains, which is really cool and fits in nicely with the ‘wintery’ theme of Origins very well indeed.

It’s a nice stopgap till we get to the next-gen only Batman: Arkham Knight which releases later this year too. You can grab a copy of Cold, Cold Heart to add onto your edition of Batman: Arkham Origins for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC today for the price of $9.99 USD. And it goes without saying, but if you have the Season Pass for the game, then all you need do is download away from within the title itself, no extra purchase required.
