Rock out with Hail to the King: Deathbat

Hard rockers Avenged Sevenfold bring their discography to life with a brand new dungeon crawler for mobile platforms.

A dungeon crawler in the classic mold, Hail to the King: Deathbat is like a living, breathing shrine to all things Avenged Sevenfold. Not the first band to be involved in making a video game (remember Kiss: Psycho Circus?), Avenged Sevenfold’s new venture looks like it might be a pretty fun time for fans of the group and those who love a good hack n’slash.

M. Shadows, lead singer of Avenged Sevenfold, elaborated on the game’s genesis, “We’ve been fans of games since we were kids, and we thought it would be fun to create one of our own inspired by our favorites. There are so many cool and innovative indie games being developed today, and we realized we could design and build the kind of game we’d love to play on our own. It is coming together amazingly well, and we can’t wait to share it.”

Subscience Studios is handling the development of the game and is factoring in Avenged’s music and the iconic artwork that’s associated with them for the final product. Those looking for a big beefy gaming experience should be happy too as the devs are promising a “ton of content gamers can sink their teeth into with beautifully drawn hellish landscapes, brutal combat and unforgiving boss demons” in the final release.

As to what platforms will see the game, there’s no info as of yet, but you can probably expect it to show up in the bigger app shops sometime soon. If you’d like to read some more about it, click here and then proceed to rock out.

About Jason Micciche

Jason's been knee deep in videogames since he was but a lad. Cutting his teeth on the pixely glory that was the Atari 2600, he's been hack'n'slashing and shoot'em'uping ever since. Mainly an FPS and action guy, Jason enjoys the occasional well crafted title from every genre.
