Series creators say it’s just not crappy enough yet.
Aside from Trey Parker and Matt Stone’s comments about the general crappiness of the game’s looks, there’s really nothing crappy about South Park: The Stick of Truth.
The first game in a long time featuring the fan favorite cartoon series and its universe, The Stick of Truth looks like every bit the homage to the show that fans could want. It looks and feels like an episode, which is exactly what Parker, Stone and Ubisoft were shooting for.
“We always wanted the game to feel like you’re actually in an episode of South Park,” says Matt Stone and Trey Parker. “Getting the game up to the crappy standards of the show has been a real challenge and we’re excited to say it’s taken way longer than we thought it would.”
So the good news for fans is that they’re taking their time with this one, which is always a good thing. The bad news is that you’re going to have to wait a little longer to play it. South Park: The Stick of Truth is now scheduled for release on March 7th, 2014 in the UK and on March 4th in the US.
