Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection now available

The complete Metal Gear Solid series collected into one nifty little package.

“We were excited to announce this collection for true METAL GEAR SOLID fans,” said Tomoyuki Tsuboi, President of Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. “Players will be able to access all of their favorite titles and relive their favorite METAL GEAR SOLID franchise moments.”

“Franchise” indeed. The Legacy Collection includes every game to ever brandish the Metal Gear Solid name and some that don’t. All in all, you get Metal Gear Solid, MGS2: Sons of the Patriots HD edition, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater HD edition (which also includes Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 as seen on the MSX), Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker HD edition, Metal Gear Solid: Vr Missions and finally (whew) Metal Gear Solid 4: Trophy Edition.

On top of all that, you also get a pair of MSG graphic novels from publisher Ashley Wood in the set. This is an incredibly nice collection for fans of director Hideo Kojima’s tactical espionage series of games and probably one that you shouldn’t miss. I doubt you’ll see another all that quickly – and if you do, it’ll most assuredly be for a next-gen console.

Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection is available now from Konami for the PS3 console.
