The newest round of single player, downloadable content coming to Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance slices, dices and has four legs.
The Blade Wolf DLC tells the tale of LQ-84i before the events of Rising where he (it?) joins forces with Raiden and becomes Blade Wolf. As has become the norm with the Rising add-ons, you can expect a new story to play through as well as an expanded origin story for the Wolf.
Reactivated by Desperado Enforcement’s leader Sundowner and serving under Mistral, the DLC reveals LQ-84i’s story prior to him battling and eventually joining forces with Raiden and becoming Blade Wolf. Players can battle countless enemies using an arsenal of weapons and abilities, culminating in an all-new boss battle.
Personally, I love single-player DLC. I wish more games would expand on the main campaign instead of simply offering more and more multiplayer. The fact that Konami is expanding Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance’s story like in is, is a breath of fresh air among the glut of maps, skins, and modes that you usually run across.
And you get to play as a robot dog with a chainsaw sticking out of his back! What’s better than that?
The Blade Wolf DLC will be available on May 14 for $6.99 on the PS3 and 560 MS points on the Xbox 360.
