Ghostbusters x Men in Black: Ecto-Terrestrial Invasion finally heading towards release

Announced way back in 2018, which feels like a thousand years ago at this point, Ghostbusters x Men in Black: Ecto-Terrestrial Invasion is on the way.

Ecto-terrestrials

You might remember Panda Cult Games and IDW’s Ghostbusters x Men in Black: Ecto-Terrestrial Invasion. You’re forgiven if you don’t though, since the tabletop game was announced almost 3 years ago, in 2018.

So just in case you don’t then really all you have to know is that the game brings together both the MIB’s and NY’s boys in gray for a supernatural-alien adventure. Oh, and it comes with some pretty neat little mini-figures too.

Ghostbusters x Men in Black: Ecto-terrestrial Invasion is a semi-cooperative game for 2 to 4 players. In it, each player will take control of one Ghostbuster and one MIB to create their team, while the ecto-terrestrials are controlled by a set of AI rules. Players will then compete with each other to bust the most ecto-terrestrials, earning them cash. In between missions, players can spend their money to buy new weapons and gear to increase their busting potential. However, missions are littered with gadget cards that can swing the busting balance in a moment’s notice. Players will need to choose their targets carefully though, as too much in-fighting can lead to the ecto-terrestrials gaining the upper hand and defeating the players.

Coming soon(ish)

As you can see, the game shoots for a cartoon look, and thanks to artist Derek Laufman, I think it hits that mark. He wasn’t alone though, as Jack Lawrence, Chris Fenoglio, Leonardo Ito, Luis Antonio Delgadoand Lanza Studio all played a part. The team crafted “over 100 pieces of interior card and tile art.”

The title is now officially out of development though, and ready to roll. Well, almost. You’ll finally be able to get your hands on this one this fall, though you can lock up your copy much sooner than that.

A pre-order period is set to open, from March 15th through April 2nd. So if you want to make sure you’re getting one, then you want to hit that sale. Speaking of, here’s the link for that.
