New reveals and Mortal Kombat 11’s story in new trailer

Take a dive into the world of Mortal Kombat 11 as NetherRealm reveals 3 new fighters and an in-depth view of the game’s time-bending story.

It has begun!

What we’ve seen till now has been just a tease of the full story. An “evil” Raiden is in there for sure, but so is the classic heroic one that you know and love. It’s a tale that features new heroes and villains… old heroes and villains, and 2 Johnny Cage’s.

MK11 looks absolutely awesome.

If you’re a Mortal Kombat fan, you’ve got to be smiling at that trailer. Not only do fans get a wholly new story, filled with some very cool looking ideas, but also the chance to play as classic versions of their favorite characters. And of course, the return of Shao Kahn too. Can’t forget the big guy.

In addition to the already impressive slate of announced fighters, we got to meet a few more too. We knew about Scorpion, Raiden, Sub-Zero, Sonya Blade, Skarlet, Baraka, Geras, Kano, D’Vorah, Kabal, Jade and Johnny Cage, but the above video intro’d a trio more.

Here’s who’s just been announced:

  • Cassie Cage, the commander of an elite Special Forces unit and daughter of the iconic duo, Sonya Blade and Johnny Cage, employs her lethal fighting skills to win every battle, with a relentless drive to measure up to her parents’ legacy. Additional gameplay featuring Cassie Cage will be showcased today, March 6, at 3:00 p.m. CST, during this week’s Kombat Kast on the NetherRealm Twitch channel.
  • Jacqui Briggs, a competitive fighter trained in kickboxing and martial arts, follows in the footsteps of her father, Jax Briggs, as a member of the Special Forces. She believes her duty is to protect Earthrealm and her family, no matter the risk.
  • Erron Black is a thrill-seeking outlaw hooked on the adrenaline of chasing his own pursuits. Black is a skilled crack shot selling his services to the highest bidder while dressed in classic western Outworld attire.

Can’t wait for Kombat? Then it’s a good thing that MK11 is almost here. The game drops on the PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch on April 23rd.
