Witcher’s Geralt to appear as a playable character in Soul Calibur VI

Geralt might be finished in CDProjekt Red’s The Witcher series of action/RPGs, but the monster-hunter isn’t quite ready to hang up the swords completely. He’s set to crossover into Bandai Namco’s fighting game sequel, Soul Calibur VI.

The stage of history. And also Rivia

While Soul Calibur’s world is most definitely its own thing, the series has made a habit of hosting some pretty major guest stars. It’s been around for over two decades at this point too, so there’ve been a bunch of ’em.

Comic book hero Spawn, The Legend of Zelda’s Link, Assassin’s Creed’s Ezio, and even Darth Vader and Yoda have all crossed over into the historic fantasy universe created at Bandai Namco. All of those heroes and villains are pretty neat, though some make a little more sense than others. Honestly though, The Witcher’s Geralt might be the best one yet.

He just kind of fits for the game. Soul Calibur’s gameplay is all about swordplay and magic after all. Geralt has plenty of both, so it’s very easy to think of him as a member of the roster. Plus he just looks awesome.

Releasing for the Xbox One, PS4, and Steam for the PC, Soul Calibur VI is looking pretty sharp overall. Expect it to arrive some time this year.
