Jurassic World Super Bowl spot kills for sport

Get your first semi-look at what the mutant dino in Jurassic World will be like in the Super Bowl for one of the biggest movies of this coming Summer.

Jurassic World felt like a lot of the same sat first. It looked very similar to the original Jurassic Park in that there was an accident, dinosaurs were unleashed on the visitors… just everything that the original film was, but on a bigger scale. Now that the trailers are getting a little more in-depth though, you can start to see where the differences in the narrative lie, and it looks pretty awesome to be perfectly honest.

The mutant-dino, which seemed a little silly at first, actually sounds pretty awesome too since it’s some kind of evolution (or should that be de-evolution?) for the species. Actor Chris Pratt’s character looks to be interesting too, with his raptor-whispering ways. And though it remains to be seen how well that goes, it is kind of fantastic to see the pack on the hunt for the super-dino. Oh, and that scene with the pterosaurs picking park guests off on the plaza is freaking awesome, reminds me of a Dinosaurs Attack!! card from back in the ’80s.

So far, so good for Universal’s reborn Jurassic franchise. Cross your fingers, Jurassic World hits theaters June 12th.
