Nintendo will be releasing its miniature Wii console this Holiday Season in the US- complete with pack-in game and low, low price.
It’d be a silly notion to call the original Wii console ‘dead’ in any way since Nintendo’s former-phenom still has a solid fan base and a terrific back catalog of games from some of the biggest franchises in gaming history- most of which are of the ‘can’t miss’ Nintendo variety.
Even so though, the Wii Mini puzzled me when it was announced a while back for Canadian audiences. Chief among my concerns was that the new, smaller version of the console would be a north of the border exclusive- which honestly seemed a bit odd.
Now it looks like that’s one question that you can knock off the list though as the Wii Mini is definitely heading to American Holiday celebrations. Nintendo has announced the the console will be available in time for the gift-giving season and be marked at a neat little price of $99.00 USD. Further enticing those who haven’t bought into the Wii is a packed-in copy of Mario Kart Wii as well as a special red-colored nunchuk and Wiimote (with plus functionality).
I don’t really know how many folks out there who wanted a Wii haven’t gotten one by now, but if you haven’t (or would like one for another TV/location) then this is probably the box set you’re looking for.
