The Dark Knight won’t be fighting alone in Batman: Arkham Knight

Robin, Catwoman, and Nightwing all star alongside Batman in the game, and all of them are payable in a brand-new way.

So, while you might not have been able to tell what was happening there in that (awesome) new trailer for Batman: Arkham Knight, developer Rocksteady is saying that you can switch between Batman and his team in the series’ signature free-flow combat, “seamlessly”. The feature is called dual-play, and there’s not too much description as to how it exactly works.

It looks though, like you can play with an AI partner that you can flip back and forth between as you fight. It’s unclear also, whether or not this dual-play is usable in campaign mode, or in challenge maps, which is something that Batman: Arkham games are usually loaded up with. f it does take place int he campaign though, I’m pretty pumped.

As a big bat-fan myself, I’d love for the bat-family to have a bigger role in this last entry in the series. I’d also like to play as Nightwing like nobody’s business, so I’m crossing my fingers. And speaking of being a big Batman fan, if you’re one too, then you had to be excited to see Azreal, who’s also looking to figure into the still mysterious main storyline of Arkham Knight.

Thankfully, this game ins’t too far off at this point. Batman: Arkham Knight is set to hit the PS4, Xbox One, and Windows PC on June 23rd.
