Yes, Wired Productions and Camel 101’s Beneath is a horror FPS. But that said, it looks like it’s packing plenty of action too.
Locked and loaded
Lovecraftian horror has seldom looked so action-packed. That’s the feeling we get from Wired Productions and developer Camel 101’s Beneath anyway. Early looks at the retro-inspired shooter in action had that tone already, but the latest trailer straps it to a torpedo and launches it.
The press release touts the thousands of fans who grabbed the demo for Beneath, at Steam’s just closed Next Fest. And honestly? It’s kind of easy to see why, as this is one deep-sea romp that looks like it should hit the mark well for action aficionados.
Beneath delivers a Lovecraftian first-person survival horror adventure, blending pulse-pounding action, psychological tension, and atmospheric storytelling. Step into the boots of seasoned diver Noah Quinn as his routine expedition descends into chaos, trapping him beneath the ocean alongside an ancient, malevolent force. With supplies running low and nightmarish creatures closing in, Noah must confront grotesque mutations, encroaching madness, and a sinister conspiracy threatening humanity itself.

Somewhere, Beneath the sea…
Was it just us, or did you get some “Halo 2” vibes from that trailer? We’re not sure how much it actually factors into the game itself, but that soundtrack played over the guns-blazing, all-out action of Beneath’s submersible horror story has us even more interests than we were already.
That’d kind of make sense though, since the two-man crew at Camel 101 is aiming to recreate the feel of fast-paced, old school FPS’ with the game. Yes, the developer of Beneath is just two guys. Impressive? We think so.
We couldn’t be more thrilled about the release of Beneath.’ – said Ricardo and Bruno Cesteiro, the brother-duo behind Camel 101. ‘Creating this game has been an incredible journey, and we’re excited to finally share what we’ve been working on over the past few years. We hope everyone has as much fun playing it, as we had creating it!’
“Beneath is bringing back the thrill of the golden era of old-school shooters, combining fast-paced action with deep, atmospheric horror. It’s a love letter to the classics whilst showcasing what is really possible with a focused and passionate 2-man studio,’ said Leo Zullo, Managing Director at Wired Productions.
