Alien: Rogue Incursion slinks onto consoles and PC

Hot on the heels of Alien Earth’s finale, Survios’ Alien: Rogue Incursion has arrived. Fans can dig into the non-VR edition of the game now.

Alien, send in the marines!

Already looking like a gem in virtual reality was Alien: Rogue Incursion. That version of the first-person shooter arrived for headsets last Holiday Season, bringing in-your-face close encounters to fans of the long-standing franchise for the first time. Be that as it may though, it also wasn’t long before developer Survios revealed the game was going to be branching out.

This past SDCC saw to that, with the announcement of Alien: Rogue Incursion – Part One: Evolved Edition. Enhanced from the original release in a few ways, this new version of the FPS was non-VR in nature, and was to be playable via the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Fans craving their next Alien fix this spooky season can fulfill their Colonial Marine fantasy in the boots of rogue operative Zula Hendricks as they explore an abandoned corporate blacksite overrun with unrelenting Xenomorphs in a story set between the Alien and Aliens films. In classic Alien fashion, balance careful stealth and pure guns-blazing aggression on a mission to rescue a former squadmate and unearth the truth of Gemini Exoplanet Solutions’ secret experiments.

Survios press release

Purge the xeno’s

Survios might be better known for virtual reality titles, but the action in that trailer is looking pretty darn slick. And if you saw the aforementioned VR version, then you probably also have taken note of a few upgrades.

As mentioned above, those are most definitely in effect for this new release, as the developer seems to have cranked everything up a bit. That makes sense, because according to Survios the game’s been rebuilt for consoles and the PC.

The company says that players can expect to see “upgraded visuals, 60 FPS, 3D audio, DualSense controller integration, and more”. Naturally, the DualSense integration would be for the PS5 version only. That’s not all though, as the xenomorphs have been upgraded from the VR edition too. Right along with all the other technical bumps, the xeno’s “have evolved to be smarter, faster, more adaptive, and harder to both predict and kill”. Sounds like Zula’s in for a rough time with these bugs.

Ready to give that pulse rifle a workout? Alien: Rogue Incursion – Part One: Evolved Edition is out now for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (via Steam -including Steam Deck- and Epic). Of course, for those who prefer virtual reality action, those versions are still ready to roll as well.
