Triple Threat update adds fresh content for Tempest Rising

Real-time strategy in the classic mold, Tempest Rising just welcomed in the Triple Threat update. It’s packed with loads of fresh content.

It’s a Triple Threat

If you’ve been enjoying 3D Realms, Knights Peak, and Slipgate Ironworks’ Tempest Rising, you’ve got a heck of a lot of new reasons to jump back in. The Triple Threat Update arrived today, and loads up with a little bit of everything.

Included is a new map, a 3v3 multiplayer mode, spectator mode, and adjustable speed setting for its solo mode. There’s more though, as the update also adds a new sandbox mode. That will allow players to do whatever they like, with no opposition. And yes, we mean human or AI. Essentially, Sandbox will let players mess around with units and buildings as they see fit. In that way, it sounds kind of like a base-builder mode.

So with all of that, this fresh drop includes a hack of a lot of content, that should get players back into the action. Of course, being that it’s an update and doesn’t have that ‘downloadable content’ label, it’s also free to add onto your copy of the base game.

Tempest Rising transports you to a battle-scarred 1997 in an alternate timeline where the Cuban Missile Crisis went nuclear. Experience two epic single-player campaigns, ranked multiplayer, and skirmish mode, featuring unique asymmetrical factions, classic RTS base building, and fast, hard-hitting gameplay. Take full command of the battlefield, lead your armies in all-out warfare, and execute bold strategies to emerge victorious.
