The return of an iconic Sega property, Shinobi: Art of Vengeance is coming up fast and has one more trailer before it launches.
Ninja strike
Fans of the classic Shinobi series have a pretty big release this month, set to round out August. That, naturally, would be Shinobi: Art of Vengeance, a 2D platforming return to form for the ninja-centric series. But although we’re just a few days off from its mass market launch, Sega has delivered one more look at the game in action.
The new video is a montage of action, as Joe Musashi makes his way through various levels. Naturally, this isn’t exactly a scenic journey. In it, Joe’s beset by a series of rival ninja and vicious, otherworldly creatures that are looking to stop his quest dead.
The master of the ninja arts returns to face an unparalleled evil! SEGA®of America has released a new trailer in anticipation of the August 29th launch of SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance. The trailer showcases the upcoming 2D action platformer set in a stunning hand-drawn world created in collaboration with developer Lizardcube, the studio behind the acclaimed Streets of Rage 4. SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance releases on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam and Nintendo Switch on August 29, 2025.

Wanna play right now?
Along with the August 29th launch, don’t forget that pre-orders are still open for all versions. Reserving either the Digital Deluxe Edition or the exclusive (physical) Limited Run Games’ Collector’s Edition will net you some bonuses however. The first of those, is that you can play the game… right now. Yep, Shinobi: Art of Vengeance is ready to roll for those who pre-order either of the above premium editions of the game.
That’s not the only reason to buy-up though, as the Digital Deluxe Edition and LRG CE also include access to the upcoming SEGA Villains Stage DLC. That’s set to launch some time in early 2026, and will come with a series of iconic Sega baddies to battle.
We already know the first of the three that’ll eventually make up the pack too, and it’s Sonic’s nemesis, Dr. Eggman.
