Quick, run off a short list of the greatest Batman stories of all time. Finished? We’re betting that the majority of readers at least considered including Batman: The Killing Joke. There’s an easy reason why of course, since, and this is putting it mildly, the book is a memorable one.
Penned by Alan Moore and with art from Brian Bolland, the 1988 DC Comics release told a particularly brutal tale. While it might seem standard for the character now, it was one of the first times that The Joker was cast as more than just a ‘comic book villain’. In The Killing Joke, he was a completely psychotic monster. Of course, it was also the title that generated decades of storytelling, and the origin (kind of) for Oracle.
And while the graphic novel lives on in ‘best of’ lists, high-end action figure company Hot Toys is looking to bring its villain to plastic-life. Just revealed today by retailer Sideshow, The Joker (The Killing Joke) will be cast in the company’s usual 12″ scale, and be a direct adaptation from the comic.
As such, he’s loaded with accessories specific to the book, plus a somewhat unique set of face sculpts.

The Joker (Batman: The Killing Joke) 1/6 Scale Collectible Figure by Hot Toyscomes with 2 interchangeable headsculpts, which both feature Hot Toys’ innovative rolling eyeball design so that collectors can created nuanced poses.
