Released a year ago, Owlcat Games‘ Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader just welcomed in patch 1.3, and it’s a biggie.
Going Rogue again
Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader is a standout in what’s become a pretty crowded field of games to take advantage of Games Workshop’s iconic property. Developer Owlcat Games‘ title is celebrating a year since its release too, but it’s not resting on its laurels.
Instead the company has launched patch 1.3, and it’s a biggie.
Patch 1.3 ushers in a staggering 1000+ “visible and internal changes”, both large and small.
Included are:
- New cutscenes and major improvements to multiple old cutscenes
- A lot of new items
- Conviction point rebalance (Convictions will be easier to get, which will give players more roleplaying freedom without feeling forced to pick a certain option to gain mechanical benefits)
- New voiceover (mostly in dialogues with Kibellah and companion banter with Kibellah involved)
- Improvement and review of loot tables in Act I and II to make item progression more interesting and diverse
- Significant improvements to French and German localization
- Multiple new Force swords scattered across the game for all your needs
- Updates and improvements to colonization events
- Rotation of Grand Strategist zones
- Updated character models for Heinrix and Abelard
Owlcat Games press release
Patch 1.3 is out right now for all versions of Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, and you can read the full notes here on the game’s Steam page. Console players can look for even more than their PC brethren however, as there’s a selection of exclusive additions just for them.
Both the Xbox Series X|S and PS5 editions of Rogue Trader have now welcomed in co-op for up to six players at once. Fans can fire up a game and engage in multiplayer right from the start, or welcome in their buddies at any time thereafter.
Game performance also gets a boost from the patch, boosting it across all platforms, and granting 4K resolution for PS5 Pro players. Lastly, Owlcat says that console players buying “top-tier editions” have a little something extra now, with a digital artbook and OST.
