Lost in the mix of the original Aquaman film, Black Manta still managed to stand out. Not only was the character vicious and relentless in battling Arthur Curry, but he was also well cast and featured a phenomenal costume. There’s no way around the fact that he looked the part more than almost any other DC movie villain.
With December’s Aquaman 2 though, Manta took a more central role, although the movie itself seems to have fallen pretty flat at the box office. If you’re a long time DC fan however, and you don’t particularly care about the movie itself, then Hot Toys has what looks to be a gem of a figure inbound.
The newest reveal in a movie-centric series of 12″ figures, Black Manta just got a full reveal and is looking as great as Hot Toys’ offerings usually do.
Inspired by the latest DC film, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, the Black Manta 1/6 Scale Collectible Figure by Hot Toys brings the villain’s impressive on-screen appearance to life. The collectible figure is expertly crafted and features a newly crafted metallic silver Black Manta helmet with red LED light-up function, plus interchangeable battle-damaged eyes.
Black Manta’s iconic suit is skillfully tailored using specialized material that enhances the figure’s articulation range, optimizing the potential for endless posing. In addition, the Black Manta figure comes with an LED-lighted accelerator backpack, an additional detail to round out the figure’s screen-accurate black and silver armor. The figure also comes equipped with a splittable trident in black, plus an additional trident in translucent green to recreate Black Manta’s connection to ancient Atlantean forces of evil. Interchangeable hands and a themed base for display complete the figure’s formidable setup.
