Fans itching to dive into System Shock Remake will actually be able to play the long-awaited title soon, just before the calendar turns to June.
Shock to the system
Not too long ago we told you that System Shock Remake was finally set to hit retail, and targeting this May. Now we know a little better, with an actual date to go along with that window. Fans can look for a May 30th release on the PC, so the game will just make that originally announced window.
The long awaited remake of the original PC FPS classic, System Shock Remake will be coming up from Nightdive Studios. And this is no simple ‘remaster’ either.
While those kinds of releases are what the company is maybe best known for, System Shock is a complete recreation of the iconic title. It’s a true remake from the ground up, with all the modern bells and whistles too, from the looks of it.
The title will be available on the PC via Steam of course, where it just participated in Next Fest, but also GOG and Epic. Those not in the mood to wait can actually grab a new demo via any of the above storefronts.
Oh and that Kickstarter hasn’t been forgotten either. System Shock Remake began life as a Kickstarter campaign from Nightdive, and the developer has the beta for it going live on backers’ “Backed Projects reward page”. So make sure to go grab that if you were a backer.
And finally, while there’s no news on a console release to share, we do know that System Shock Remake will be hitting both Xbox and PlayStation platforms at a “later date”. So stay tuned for that.
