Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania coming to IMAX next month

The latest film in the MCU catalog is set to feature more than just the title heroes, as Quantumania will intro the next big Marvel baddie, Kang.

You know my name

The Quantum Realm is looking wilder than ever in Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania. Oh sure, you’ve likely seen glimpses of it before if you’ve seen the majority of the latest Marvel films, but from the looks of the newest trailer, you ain’t seen nothing yet.

In the film, which officially kicks off phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Super-Hero partners Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) return to continue their adventures as Ant-Man and the Wasp. Together, with Hope’s parents Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer), the family finds themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures and embarking on an adventure that will push them beyond the limits of what they thought was possible. Jonathan Majors joins the adventure as Kang. Director Peyton Reed returns to direct the film; Kevin Feige and Stephen Broussard produce.

IMAX press release

As you can see, there’s lot happening in this one, not the least of which is the introduction of Kang. A legendary Avengers villain, he will play a huge part in the MCU’s current phase (that’d be 5), though there are rumors that he’s not actually the main villain of Quantumania. Might that be the robotic MODOK, as teased above? Maybe, but whatever the case, this is looking like another CGI spectacle (for good or ill).

And if you’re looking for the best way possible to view one of those, well I don’t think you can do much better than IMAX. Equipped with that massive screen, IMAX will showcase Quantumania in 1.90:1 aspect ratio. And yes, it’ll haven more content too, with 26% more picture in “select sequences” across the movie.

You’ll be able to catch Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania in IMAX theaters on February 17th.
