The (golden) Autobot Matrix of Leadership is here from Icon Heroes

Collectible company Icon Heroes has a golden treat for Transformers fans, in the form of a special set of gold-colored “Matrix” bookends.

Now light our darkest hour

It’s probably fair to say that most Transformers fans have their brightest memory of the Autobot Matrix of Leadership from the animated movie. The landmark film was the first to bring the boys (and girl) from Cybertron to the big screen, and delivered several key moments to fans, including spotlighting said Matrix.

The physical embodiment of Cybertronian leadership, the Matrix was passed it on to Ultra Magnus after the death of Optimus Prime. And after that debacle came to a close, it would eventually go to Hot Rod, who became Rodimus Prime (then back to Optimus, but that’s another story).

But while it’s appeared in numerous comics and live-action movies, and has been a part of action figures aplenty, The Matrix rarely gets a statue or replica issued. So if you’ve been looking to add one to your own collection, this just might fit that niche for you.

Fresh from Icon Heroes, this particular Matrix of Leadership is actually a bookend set. Oh, and it’s golden, unlike the usual depiction of the item. There’s a reason for that too, as this piece is a callback to The Golden Lagoon, an episode of the classic cartoon.

Inspired by the Transformers episode The Golden Lagoon where Autobots and Decepticons are protected in electrum coating after dipping into a golden lagoon, the Matrix of Leadership Bookend measures approximately 6.2” H x 8.4” W x 4” D.  Split them apart to hold and display your books, Blu-Ray Discs, DVDs, and more! Till all are one.

* Books not included.

Icon Heroes press release

The Matrix actually available right now, and is ready to ship via Icon Heroes’ web shop here. It’s priced in at $70 USD.
