Tekken 7 gets new character options, streaming mode and more in update 5.10

Fresh off the reveal of Tekken 8, Bandai Namco’s long-running Tekken 7 has gotten a new update adding in a selection of new options.

Really?

Just for your reference, Tekken 7 was released in 2015. And even with that long history behind it, and a new sequel just announced, Bandai Namco is still supporting it. Now that’s staying power. Then again, maybe it’s not all that shocking, since the game has just blasted through 10 million units sold (globally).

And as updates go, 5.10 is no slouch. The new release brings even more character options to the game, as well as a streaming mode, new settings and more. Scroll down for the list.

  • Streaming Mode
    • Streaming Mode is now available in the Game Options. When Streaming Mode is switched on, the online ID/gamertag of the opponent on the VS screen and the battle screen in Ranked Match, Player Match, and Quick Match will change to the character name.
  • New Customization Items and Expanded Character Selection
    • A range of new customization items are available in the Character Panel Set. On the Character Selection screen, players can now save their favorite character and costume combination and select it with one button. Also added is a feature that remembers the last costume that was selected within each play session.
  • Modified Tournament Settings
    • New modifications to Tournament Settings are now available in Game Options. When Tournament Settings are switched on, players will not be able to use the following character selection features in Versus Battles: “Favorite” settings, character costume selection, or last costume saved.
  • Updated Connection Status Info Display
    • Changes to the connection status info display include addition of information showing the processing load of the PCs used in the match as well as text formatting enhancements.

Version 5.10 of Tekken 7 is out now for all versions of the base game.
