The Blazkowicz twins explode in this new trailer, loaded with story elements, for Wolfenstein Youngblood. Also good? A release date.
New generation
Not promoted as much as the other two Wolfenstein releases, Youngblood is looks very, very cool in this first trailer. Not only do we get a look at some great gunplay, but also a good deal of what the story will be.
It all focuses on the hunt for the original Wolfenstein hero.
More of a side-story, Youngblood comes out of main Wolf developer Machine Games, but in conjunction with Arkane Studios Lyon. So it’s a joint effort. That kind of makes me wonder what Machine Games has the majority of its resources focused on, but that’s for another day.
Youngblood might be a spin-off, but it’s also packing some originality. Not only is the setting different, since this is alternate 80s Paris, but it’s also a co-op affair. As you might’ve imagined, you can play with a buddy as the twins, taking it to the Nazis double-time.
To that end, Bethesda will offer a Buddy Pass. Yes, that’s exactly what it sounds like – a way for two people to play online, with only one copy of the game. You’re not even limited to one pal, as you can lend your Buddy Pass to any one friend at a time. The only caveat is that you’ll need the Deluxe Edition of the game, as the basic version doesn’t include the Pass. Pretty awesome overall though.
As for when you’ll be able to get one of those, or any version of Wolfenstein: Youngblood, that’s coming up soon. Watch for more Nazi smashing action to hit consoles and the PC on July the 26th.
