Ninties FPS fans take note, Blood is back. Not in a totally new game, but in a remaster from the… masters of the art form, Nightdive Studios.
There will be blood
Nightdive has a pretty nice track record with revamping classics. As seen in their version of Turok, the developer doesn’t do total conversions. Instead, they release updated editions, the main goal being an improved and playable (on modern machines) version of the original. So these are true to form, and of course nostalgia-heaven.
We had actually heard about this update of Blood a while back, but then it kind of fell off of the radar. The info-drought ends today though, as publisher Atari and Nightdive have released an onslaught of screenshots.
And man, is this some cool stuff. Blood is set to bring the original Blood title back in fine form. The game looks exactly like that classic, niche shooter, though will be fully playable on today’s Windows PC’s.
Unfortunately however, there’s still no release date. So if you’re a big fan of the formerly forgotten Caleb and crew, and you’re chomping at the bit to dive back into the campy, gore-soaked world of Blood, hang on.
We’ll have plenty more for you as it’s announced.
