From Software’s latest, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is almost here. The game launches this month, and it’s launch trailer has it looking pretty great.
Prepare to die?
It’s not clear just what Sekiro is. The game has had a somewhat mysterious development cycle, and not all that much in the way of details since it was announced.
Being from From Software though, it’s sort of easy to read into things and figure out what Sekiro is set to offer. It’s also almost here, and looking pretty great.
In the game, players come face-to-face with larger than life foes in a dark and twisted world. As the “One-armed Wolf” they can unleash an arsenal of deadly prosthetic tools and powerful ninja abilities while blending stealth, vertical traversal, and visceral head-to-head combat in a bloody confrontation. From Software press release
So is Sekiro a ‘Soulslike”, or what? Is it a game that will command you to master its levels and enemies in order to proceed? A game that’ll kill you every way possible, left and right, till you figure it out? Probably.
From Software is, of course, famous for Demon’s/Dark Souls and Bloodborne. The press release is very proud to point that out. So I think it’s safe to say that fans of the mini-genre they pretty much created might dig Sekiro here.
You’ll be able to see for yourself on March 22nd. That’s when the game hits the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
