Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is getting a fresh update with improvements for multiplayer, Blackout, and Zombies all included.
Fresh undead… and more
Black Ops 4 has been enjoying some level of success since its launch last fall. Though it seems like Activision’s latest marquee shooter hasn’t been quite the blockbuster as it has been in the past. Part of that might be that there’s no campaign this time around, but that’s a personal complaint that I’ll not be getting into here.
And anyway, even without the campaign, there’s still plenty to Black Ops 4. That includes not just the multiplayer, but also the usual zombies mode, and the new Blackout gimmick – CoD’s answer to PUBG and the like.
Each of those modes gets a little better with this download too. Officially update 1.2, the list of what’s new includes:
- Multiplayer brings new gameplay improvements and featured playlists including Blackjack’s Gun Game.
- For Blackout, Treyarch has incorporated a new round of tuning changes focusing on armor, concussion grenades and cluster grenades. They’re also debuting Ambush on PS4, their newest limited-time mode where players only have sniper riffles, melee attacks and launchers at their disposal in a circle that never stops collapsing once it starts. Down But Not Out continues its second week on other platforms and will be replaced by Ambush next week.
- For Zombies, classic and loot weapons arrive in the mystery box in all Zombies maps. Gameplay improvements, fixes and stability updates have been made across the board. See the post for details on camo progression, the second Gauntlet on PS4 and other details.
