Onimusha: Warlords remake hits consoles and PC

Capcom’s remaster of the original Onimusha: Warlords is finally here. Relive Samanosuke and Kaede’s first campaign as of today.

Warlords returns

Sort of a forgotten series in recent years, Onimusha: Warlords was a big time game in its day. It even spawned a successful trilogy, all of which were pretty darn great.

After the era of the PS2 though, it was all but forgotten. But as of today, the series hits once again, for a while new generation of players. Not that this is a new game though, it’s not. Onimusha: Warlords, which is what this is, is a remake of the original Onimusha that originally launched on the PS2.

It is not a full remake in the vein of Crash Bandicoot: The N.Sane Trilogy, but more of an old school remaster. That means is looks better than the original, but it’s not going to really compare to something like 2018’s God of War.

Still looking pretty good. According to Capcom, there are a few new features that differentiate this re-do from the original too.

Here:s what’s new:

  • high-definition graphics
  • widescreen display option
  • analog stick support
  • Easy Mode option
  • new soundtrack
  • new ‘honor’ in-game achievement system

Onimusha: Warlords is available now for the PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and Steam for the PC. It’ll run you $19.99 USD.
