Conan Exiles coming to Xbox One and PC in 2017

Tell me, what is best in life? Well, Conan Exiles obviously.

CROM!

Know o Prince, that between the years when the oceans drank Atlantis and the gleaming cities, and the rise of the sons of Aryas, there was an age undreamed of!

For a game that I didn’t even know existed before I saw that trailer, I’m digging Conan Exiles. It sort of looks like a barbarian-centric Elder Scrolls, and if that’s even remotely close to what we end up getting, then it should be pretty nice.

Swordplay and magic are the focus here, and there are plenty of monsters too from the looks of things. That colossus in particular is pretty neat. And while the trailer might look like this is a multiplayer affair, developer Funcom says that there’s single player adventuring to be had as well.

An unforgiving world

It sounds like a pretty deep world that you’ll be adventuring in too. Survival will be the key, but not in the usual sense. Read through this:

Journey through a vast, seamless world filled with the ruins of ancient civilizations and uncover its dark history and buried secrets as you seek to conquer and dominate the exiled lands yourself. Start with nothing but your bare hands and forge the legacy of your clan, from simple tools and weapons to gigantic fortresses and entire cities. Enslave the bandits of the exiled lands to do your bidding by breaking them on the grueling Wheel of Pain. Sacrifice the beating hearts of your enemies on the blood-soiled altars of your deity to seize true power and glory. Summon the colossal avatar of your god and see them lay waste to your enemies and their homes.

Honestly, that sounds pretty great. Whether or not it all comes to pass is, of course, still up in the air. The graphics look a little bit rough yet too in places, but then again we’ve also got a while till launch. Landing on both the Xbox One and the PC, Conan Exiles is scheduled to arrive this coming Spring.

Plenty of time between now and then to make sure things are as Crom expects.
