New Sherlock Holmes trailer investigates game’s opening

Take a look at the opening scene of Sherlock Holmes: The Devil’s Daughter, as pre-orders go live.

Reminding immediately of the series’ past games from Frogwares, The Devil’s Daughter takes that formula and adds onto it with a redesigned Holmes and Watson, as well as some very nice looking graphical updates, and free-roaming gameplay. That alone is a massive bump for a Frogwares Holmes title, as it’s pretty much always been a series where you had to fast-travel to a location, and then hunt around a bit, with no big or open areas to explore at your leisure.

Of course, this isn’t an action title either, so don’t go thinking that ‘free-roaming’ means that you’ll be battling baddies at every turn. These games are more akin to classic adventure games where you have to use your noggin to proceed. You’ll question suspects and hunt down clues in all the various settings that you came across; The Devil’s Daughter is very much in the same vein as Frogwares’ other games starring the character, more classic Holmes and less Robert Downey jr. Holmes.

If all that sounds good to you (and it should if you like Sherlock), then  you’ll be happy to know that pre-orders have finally gone live for the game. It’s about time too, as Sherlock Holmes: The Devil’s Daughter hits retail for the Xbox One, PS4, and PC on June the 10th.
