Open world meets turn-based strategy in Wasteland 2 Director’s Cut, and there are as many ways to complete missions as you can imagine.
Lots to like there, as Brian Fargo, inXile’s CEO, walks us through a few of the ways to proceed in one of Wasteland 2’s missions. Choice is always a big part of open-world games, though there are few that go that route and pack turn-based gameplay as well. It seems like Wasteland 2 though, manages both nicely.
Of course, if you played the game at all when it was first released last year on the PC, then you already know all about this revival of a classic series. If not, and you’re new to the pre-Fallout nuclear wasteland, then you’re in for quite a ride.
Actually, even if you played the original, you might want to come back for the revised version, as Deep Silver and inXile are promising overhauled graphics, new voice recordings, some new gameplay elements and character customization options, and a host of other stuff.
Wasteland 2 Director’s Cut arrives on the Xbox One and PS4 on October 13th in the US and on the 16th globally.
