The LEGO Ghostbusters set, featuring the fab four themselves and their famous ride is on the way to retail this June.
Announced at the New York Toy Fair a few weeks back, LEGO’s version of the paranormal investigators and eliminators has been unveiled in all its glory, complete with a price tag and release date.
Including mini-figures of all four Ghostbusters characters and a really nicely detailed model of their famous hearse the Ecto-1, this set is kind of a dream come true- especially for long time fans who remember the movies when they were fresh in the theaters. The 11 year old me probably would have actually spontaneously combusted at the thought of Ghostbusters LEGO’s and, to be completely honest, the current me kind of does too. Even without the glowing proton streams (no, their not included), this is one incredible toy collector’s piece.
The Ecto-1 comes hot on the heels of the Back to the Future set that was released last year too, so I’m really hoping it’s not the last time we see a classic movie kit from the building block company. Personally, I’d like to see some Schwarzenegger-themed sets… but that might be a bit of a stretch even for a company as varied as LEGO.
You can grab a LEGO Ghostbusters Ecto-1 set for yourself starting this June. It’ll cost you $49.99 USD. Now, how about a Firehouse?
