Fuse lights up store shelves and Insomniac shares some tips

Insomniac Games’ Fuse drops in on retail shelves this week and the developer has a few quick tips and tricks ready for players looking to get started on the right foot.

Fuse has been getting some very nice word of mouth as of late. That’s a sharp contrast to the negative reaction that the third-person action title got when Insomniac announced that the lighthearted ‘Overstrike’ was getting a name change and a makeover.

Formerly a PS3 exclusive developer, Insomniac’s first multiplatform game under publisher EA’s banner is looking like a very solid action experience. Centered on four-player co-op gameplay (but also playable in single player), Fuse is packed with some very interesting weaponry (not that you’d expect less from Insomniac) and gameplay mechanics including that on-the-fly switching between characters.

I like that graphical style too. It’s got a comic-booky vibe to it without being over the top, really neat and if it plays as well as it looks, then Fuse just might be a winner. If you’re targeting this one for yourself, then by all means make your way down to your local game shop.

Fuse is available now for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
