Predator and more confirmed for Mortal Kombat X

Looks like that rumored appearance (and outing on the Xbox game store) was accurate, as one of the biggest sci-fi/horror characters of all time will be joining Jason Voorhees as a downloadable character in MKX.

A fantastic fit for the game, and sure to make many a fan squeal with glee, Predator is a great choice for a ‘guest’ character. Just as good as Jason really, and whoever else is rumored to be in the running (cough*Spawn*caugh). We have yet to see the big guy in action of course, but it’s pretty awesome to see that he’ll more than likely have his shoulder cannon and maybe even cloaking capabilities. Personally, I can’t wait to carve into the MK cast as him.

As for the rest of the Kombat Pack, the female character is Tanya and the male if Tremor. I thought it was Kabal for a second, but it most decidedly is not. Both of those fighters have had bit parts in MK lore in the past, guesting in 2011’s Mortal Kombat, but this will be the first starring roles as fighter for both.

Adding to the downloadable fun, each character made available will also come packaged with a trio of skins for use in the game. For Predator, those skins all fit in with the original movie and are an infrared version of Scorpion, Jonny Cage decked out in Commando fatigues, and Carl Weathers as Jax. Yes seriously, and yes again, that’s freaking amazing.

Mortal Kombat X hits current and last generation consoles as well as the PC on April 14th from NetherRealm and Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment.

About Jason Micciche

Jason's been knee deep in videogames since he was but a lad. Cutting his teeth on the pixely glory that was the Atari 2600, he's been hack'n'slashing and shoot'em'uping ever since. Mainly an FPS and action guy, Jason enjoys the occasional well crafted title from every genre.
