Madden 15 set to kick off gaming’s big release season this August

As usual, the latest edition of EA’s venerable Madden football franchise will be heading to consoles in August as it snaps the ball to usher in the Holiday release season.

I wish I could become a cartoon. Could probably sod all kinds of awesome stuff… including play football in the NFL, which is what we’re talking about here.

EA’s latest version of Madden (Madden 15) will indeed be on the way, leading the charge into the al-important Holiday gaming season, and of course, the NFL season. The National Football League kicks off on September 4th, which should give you plenty of time to get your pre-season warmups in with Madden and get back into the football-flow.

Pretty light on details right now, we do know though that Madden 15 will have “the most immersive defensive gameplay control in franchise history”, so it looks like EA is seeking something of an overhaul for the usually lackluster defensive end of the series. There’ll also be an all new booth, new camera angles, and “dynamic pre-game and halftime features”. Fans should watch out for the ‘cover vote’ competition once again too, as EA will be teaming with ESPN and NFL fans to pick the next cover athlete for the game. Check out the NFL draft on either ESPN or the NFL Network on May 8th at 8pm EST for more on that.

As for when you can expect to see the game in stores, Madden 15 will arrive on August 26th (29th in the UK) for the Xbox One/360 and PS4/3. No Wii U or PS Vita version has been announced as of yet, but we’ll keep you posted if that changes. Expect to see lots more in the months to come.
