Alien: Isolation is looking like a spot-on foray into the terrifying world of the original film in the series. In the new trailer for the game, Sigourney Weaver and the rest of the cast talk about what makes it so compelling.
It’s definitely true that a game has the potential to completely envelope a player and take them to a place that a movie really can’t, no matter how terrifying it is. Alien was one heck of a scary film too, and to make something that falls right in line with the fell of that original, well, it definitely has the potential to be a scarier interactive experience than pretty much anything in gaming history.
I was too young to remember the original when it was released, but I sure do recall how freaked out I got when I saw it years later. It’s a jarring film to say the least, and here with Alien: Isolation developer Creative Assembly has crafted something that’s not only true to the property, but strictly adhering to every aspect of it. If you don’t believe that, check out this trailer where the crew behind the title talks about the level of technology featured in it (hint- it’s ’70s level). It’s stunning what they’re doing here and, if they’re successful, it should be one amazingly scarey time.
Alien: Isolation (complete with its pre-order dlc featuring the original cast) debuts on the Xbox One, PS4, PS3, Xbox 360, and PC on October 7th.
