A newly founded forge world is in danger, as the Necrons return to reclaim the surface in Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus II.
Praise the Omnissiah
Sequel to the 2018 original, Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus II is inbound for consoles and the PC from Bulwark Studios and Kasedo Games. And while the title was announced a while ago, we just got our first real look at its gameplay and story via this week’s Gamescom show.
From the looks of it, the game’s turn-based tactical action should be familiar to players of the original, while still serving up plenty that’s wholly new. Naturally, the Adeptus Mechanicus will once again take the lead in this new title. And although Magos Dominus Faustinius will once again be in command of the Imperial forces, he certainly won’t be alone.
Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus II will actually tout a pair of campaigns, delivering both the Mechanicus and a fully playable set of Necron missions. That second campaign will task players with fielding the robotic Necron armies, and retaking the Imperium’s newly founded forge world.
While Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus II is still a ways off, the game’s prologue is actually on display and playable right now at Gamescom. So if you’re in the neighborhood, feel free to stop by Hall 7.1, Booth A02 to check it out.
If not though, stay tuned. We’re sure that there’ll be plenty more about the game in bound, as we head towards its release on the PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
