Ready to travel to the creepiest zone yet for Fallout 4? The Far Harbor expansion is available now.
I’ve seen that video more than a few times, and it’s still as creepy as ever. Probably more Lovecraft-esque than anything else that’s seen release in the last few years too, which is really pretty awesome when you think about it since, you know, we’re talking about an expansion for a Fallout game here.
Valentine’s Detective Agency is the propellant for the story behind Far Harbor, which sees you traveling to a mysterious isle off the coast of Maine. Far Harbor is a high-radiation area in the Fallout universe, and as such is a “more feral world” than what you might be used to from the main game.
And what you’ll find waiting for you there is more than a murder mystery or an untamed land, as a rift is tearing the community apart with simmering hostilities between “synths, the Children of Atom, and the local townspeople” bubbling up.
You’ll more than likely find a ton to play through here too, as Far Harbor is a massive playground, bigger than any other add-on ever that Bethesda has released for one of its games. There are new quests and new settlements yes, but also new creatures and dungeons – and new armor and weaponry to battle them with.
Check out some of what the expansion will be like in the gameplay trailer below.
So bottom line, you’re going to be spending a ton more time in the post-apocalyptic world that Bethesda has crafted. Far Harbor is available now to add onto your copy of Fallout 4 for the Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Oh, and don’t forget that this is but the first expansion for the game, and there’s more on the horizon; and that includes mod support, which’ll be here for consoles sometime next month.
