Rebellion reveals first-person action/horror title Alien Deathstorm

Following up on the release of Atomfall, Rebellion has revealed another original offering with action/horror title Alien Deathstorm.

Not just a Deathstorm, an Alien Deathstorm

Rebellion continues to serve up some impressive-looking games. For one thing, the company has both Sniper Elite and Zombie Army as mainstays. And on top of those, it also debuted Atomfall in 2025, an open-world survival title that was steeped in weirdness. But wait, there’s more, as the developer’s next title has been unveiled as Alien Deathstorm.

There’s quite a setup for this new game too. It sounds like players will have to deal with not just one threat, but two distinct ones. For one thing, the game is set on a remote colony that’s not doing all that great. The established base is caught in the midst of a cataclysmic storm that’s literally ripping it to pieces. Not the best place to get stuck. As for that ‘part two’, we’re pretty sure you can guess it, but yeah, the place is overrun with hostile aliens.

From the looks of it too, these aren’t foes that you’ll be able to reason with. Instead, they’re savage creatures who’ll be looking to put players in a world of hurt.

In Alien Deathstorm, you play as the Combat Engineer, a highly trained first responder, who has been dispatched to a remote, off-world colony that has suffered a complete loss of communications. Arriving days or potentially weeks ahead of a full rescue fleet, your job is to determine what has caused the colony to fall silent and try to save as many lives as possible.

As you land, the Deathstorm is tearing the colony to shreds. You must navigate the ongoing destruction, amid apocalyptic conditions and with the threat of unknown alien horrors. You knew it was going to be bad, but it’s much worse than you thought it would be, and it’s going downhill fast. What you thought was a rescue mission has now become a fight for survival.

Rebellion press release

Stay tuned for much, much more on Alien Deathstorm. The game was only just revealed at last week’s Xbox Partner Showcase, and isn’t scheduled to land until some time in 2027. When it does arrive though, you’ll be able to expect to see it on the Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC (via both Xbox on PC and Steam). Along with that, the title will also be an Xbox Cloud game, and will be available for play on day one via Xbox Game Pass.
