Presented by Xbox, fans will be able to get a deeper look at Sega’s upcoming Stranger Then Heaven this May.
One Japan, five eras: Stranger Than Heaven
Pretty much instantly, Sega and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio’s Stranger Then Heaven has caught our attention. While we don’t know a heck of a lot about the upcoming action title, it’s so-far looking to be a brutal and stylish action affair with a bit of a twist
If you’ve yet to see it in action, the title will delve into the criminal underworld of Japan. And while that might not be the most original of premises, play will apparently span decades. In a slick sounding twist, Stranger Than Heaven will explore a total of five eras, and five cities. Included in that will be 1915, 1929, 1943, 1951, and 1965. And though we don’t know the named cities just yet, you can definitely get a sense of the changing times in the new trailer.
That was revealed at today’s Xbox Partner Preview, though that glimpse included the reveal of a much more detailed sneak peek as well. Prospective players can look for that this May, with Xbox Presents: A Special Look at STRANGER THAN HEAVEN.
How’s that for style? We have to admit that we’re really digging what Sega and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio is cooking up here. If you are too, then don’t forget to tune in to Xbox Presents: A Special Look at STRANGER THAN HEAVEN. You’ll be able to catch it on May 7th, 2026, kicking off at 12am BST.
As for a release date, it’s just a tad too early for that. We do know though, that Stranger Then Heaven will be heading to the Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, PS5, and PC (via Steam). Along with that, subscribers will also be able to play via Xbox Game Pass, and the title will support Xbox Play Anywhere.
