One of the best-loved moments from one of the best-loved Batman movies is coming to LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight.
LEGO Batman broadens our minds
Coming up fast now, is Warner Bros. Games’ LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight. Hailing from the LEGO maniacs at TT Games, this new entry in the long-running series is looking like it might be something special. After all, the action title plays off of some familiar control schemes (for Bat-fans), and its content spans the length of Batman’s film catalog. More over, some it looks like it directly adapts it.
The latest trailer for the title is direct evidence of that fact, as Joker and his gang invade a museum. But this isn’t just any museum, but an art installation located in the heart of Gotham City. Yep, it’s a direct homage to the scene in the 1989 original, where Vickie Vale is beset by Joker.
Now, being that this game has its own story, you probably won’t be able to expect the same beats from the flick in question, but the scene is looking as intact as possible. And yes, that means it’s even framed by the legendary Prince’s ‘Partyman’ track.
Developed by TT Games, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is an action-adventure videogame inviting players to embark on Bruce Wayne’s epic journey to become the Caped Crusader from origin to legend. Inspired by decades of Batman films, television shows, comic books, and games, this heroic story-led campaign combines DC lore and signature LEGO humor in the ultimate LEGO Batman experience.
Warner Bros. Games press release
Launching soon
How fantastic was that? We were already into this new LEGO adventure, but seeing a LEGO-ized version of something as iconic as Joker’s museum invasion has us even more hyped. If you are too, then get ready, because LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is coming up fast.
Set for release on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (via Steam and Epic), this latest LEGO title will hit retail on May 29th, 2026. Along with the standard version too, there’ll also be a Deluxe Edition. That version will offer up 72-hour early access, for those who pre-order.
Speaking of pre-orders, there’s an extra goody for those who secure their copy ahead of time. Pre-orders of either version of the game include a The Dark Knight Returns Batsuit, so players can suit-up in Frank Miller, 80s style. And those who create (or have) a Warner Bros. Games account can add to that costume, with the Golden Age Batsuit. Sounds like there’s no pre-order required for that one.
We don’t want to forget about Switch 2 owners either, as LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is coming to Nintendo’s latest console as well. That won’t be during the general launch however, and as of right now, there’s no date to report. We’ll keep you posted.
