A Super Mario Galaxy of toys coming from JAKKS

Rolling right into the big screen sequel is JAKKS, as the toy-maker preps for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie with a ton figures and more.

Mario Galaxy is on the way

Super Mario is indeed back once again on the big screen this year, for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. But the sequel won’t be all that’s out there, as a huge assortment of toys will accompany its release. And those, of course, will hail from Jakks Pacific.

The toy company has long held a relationship with Nintendo, and fans well know that there’ve been a bevy of action figures springing out of that over the years. That included a lineup of 5″ action figures that featured the designs from 2023’s The Super Mario Movie. And now that the aforementioned sequel is inbound, JAKKS has revealed that it’ll be continuing on.

A new line of toys will tie-into this April’s The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, and be spread out across a few form-factors. Yes, there’ll be action figures, that’s a no-brainer, but there’ll also be mini-figs, playsets, plush, and even… yo-yos? You better believe it, and they actually look pretty slick.

“JAKKS Pacific’s products inspired by the first film, which earned more than $1.3 billion worldwide, quickly became fan favorites, celebrated for their high-quality designs and for the attention to detail they brought to Mario and other beloved characters within the Mushroom Kingdom,” said Rafa Macias, Global Commercial Officer, Consumer Products, Games & Digital, Universal Products & Experiences. “This new film and toy assortment offer an even more immersive out-of-this-world universe for fans to explore, and we look forward to seeing how fans embrace both the film and JAKKS Pacific line.”

Galactic Kingdom

We’ve been huge fans of what JAKKS has done with the Super Mario license over the years. It’s kind of hard not to be, if you have history with Nintendo’s premier property. JAKKS has taken the Fire Flower and run with it though, making what has to be the single greatest line of Super Mario-themed figures and playsets ever produced.

As mentioned too, they’ve done so over a few scales, with multiple sizes of Mario and crew. The Super Mario Galaxy Movie figures and toys will fall in line with that idea, though with some different scaling. While the 5″ figures will return once again, there’ll also be 1.5″ mini-figures, and even 9″ plush.

Those who like big set pieces should be pleased too, as there are a few on the way. A new Deluxe Bowser Castle will be hitting stores, as well as a Gateway Galaxy diorama, and a Yoshi’s Egg that’ll offer up a double-sided adventure. Those will all fit in with the smaller figures.

All of this and more will be warp-piping to Walmart, Smyth’s Toys, “and other major retailers” very soon. As you’ll see in the official rundown below too, there are a few exclusives. So make sure to note those, if you’re going to be hunting all of these down.
