Aero The Acro-Bat headlines new Sunsoft collection

Return to the 16bit era in the upcoming collection of Sunsoft games. And it’s all headlined by Aero the Acro-Bat.

Three times the Aero (and more)

Anybody who was playing video games back in the 90s should remember Sunsoft. The company was quite busy in that age of the SNES and Genesis, seeing a library’s worth of titles hit the market. A good chunk of those were licensed, and Sunsoft has something of a good rep when it comes to those. Although mixed in with those games were also some original gems.

One of those even spawned something of a series unto itself, and yes, we’re talking about Aero the Acro-Bat. A mascot platformer with a circus theme and starring a cute little bat, Aero saw two adventures in that decade. And while that was it for him in the 90s, Aero returned once again in the early 2000’s. That game brought him to the portable realm, for an outing on the Game Boy Advance.

That was then though, and we haven’t seen hide nor hair of the little guy in the decades since. That’s to say, until now, as it looks like he’s finally set to return. This upcoming title won’t be a new game, but instead will be a collection of Sunsoft classics. The main bat will be headlining the package deal, which will bundle together a total of six games.

The set will include all three of his games, and be joined by three additional titles. The whole deal will be called Aero The Acro-Bat Legacy + Sunsoft Lost Gems.
