‘Ere we go boyz, the Orks are back for more in Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV. Check ’em out in the new deep dive video.
What’s a Dawn of War without the Boyz?
If you somehow missed the news, Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War is back. The real-time strategy series is returning with a full fourth outing from Deep Silver and KING Art Games. It’s looking like a worthy successor to the title too, at least thus far. Though that’s not to say that we’ve seen all that much detailing its action just yet.
If you’re anything like us, you’ve been itching to see more. And if so, stand by, because we’ve got a brand new trailer for you to take a look at. Maybe that’s too light of a word though, since today’s release isn’t just a trailer with a few seconds of action. Nope, this is a full-on four minute look at the Orks in all their bloodthirsty glory.
Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV has a big surprise too, for those who want to field the battle-hungry greenskins. That would be that there are two Warbosses to pick from. Yep, this game’s too big for one apparently. Both Gorgutz and Guzcutta will be looking to make as much of the chaos as they can in their war for the planet of Kronus.
Louder dakka, harder choppas, and the boyz charging into war on a massive scale. The Orks are built for relentless, anarchic violence. This trailer showcases their narrative role, brutal playstyle, key units, commanders, and the devastating Waaagh! ability, which can turn the tide of battle through sheer numbers and overwhelming firepower.
It’s all about being the biggest and baddest. Dakka, dakka, dakka.
Deep Silver press release
A greater battlefield awaits
While it’s great to see the Orks back, complete with their expanded forces, they’re not the only faction available for play in Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV. We assume you knew that though. It’d be a little weird if they were after all, since this is a series that’s more or less known for offering multiple factions to play.
In that way, the latest installment doesn’t sounds like it’ll disappoint. Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV will serve up a total of four armies to dive into the action with. Among them, we already knew that the Dark Angels and Blood Ravens would be making up the Imperial forces.
Now you can add the Orks to that list obviously, though the latter two forces still remain a mystery. We assume that they’ll both follow suit with what’s been revealed to date, and offer two distinct sub-forces to field, though what overall races we’ll be talking about is still in the (black) vault.
Unfortunately, there’s still no release date for Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV either. On that note though, we do know that the title will be heading to the PC some time later this year. So basically, stay tuned.
