A throwback FPS from Dotemu and developer Auroch Digital, Starship Troopers: Ultimate Bug War! features a brand new soldier.
Are you doing your part for the Bug War?
Johnny Rico is back, but this time he’s leading the fight as a General. So if that’s the case, then who’s the star of Dotemu and Auroch Digital’s upcoming retro first-person shooter, Starship Troopers: Ultimate Bug War!? Well, as it happens, that’d be an all-new character called Major Samantha “Sammy” Dietz.
Dietz is no new coming to the fight against the menacing bugs. Though it should also be added that this new title will be her first appearance in Starship Troopers lore. Players will don her boots in a series of large-scale, “open area battlefields”, as she rips into the invading insects.
Not that that’s all she’ll be doing. Starship Troopers: Ultimate Bug War! seems like it’s set to offer multiple objectives, along with an arsenal to get the job done with. And yes, that’ll include Mecha’s, a staple from the books that we didn’t see in the famous original film.

Ready to take on the bugs? Starship Troopers: Ultimate Bug War! is set to arrive for the PC, Nintendo Switch 2, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S some time soon. There’s no official release date just yet, but Dotemu says to expect it early this year.
