The demo for Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknown is heading to the Switch 2, just ahead of the strategy title’s full launch.
Voyager boldly goes to the Switch 2
Transwarping to consoles and the PC, Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknown has one of the more interesting premises that we’ve seen to date. Well, at least when it comes to Star Trek games it does. Namely, that the strategy title will allow players to re-play the adventure of the show’s full run.
But fans won’t have to simply relive the action and adventure of Star Trek: Voyager in this one. Nope, instead they’ll be able to change events, altering the journey that the Federation starship made on its way from the far-flung Delta Quadrant, back to Earth.
If you’ve been eagerly awaiting the chance to dig in, then today brings a double-dose of news. For one thing, there’s the new deep dive trailer, which details just what options the game will offer as to exploration. That theme is a pretty big part of Trek in general, and a huge element to Voyager.
As for part two of the reveals, that’s that a demo will be coming to the Switch 2. And yes, it’ll be landing ahead of the game’s full launch.
Before we get to that though, here’s that video presentation:
Set the U.S.S. Voyager and deep in the unexplored reaches of the Delta Quadrant aboard, Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknown invites players to relive—and redefine—the legendary starship’s journey back to earth. The game blends exploration, ship & resource management, roguelite elements, and meaningful choices. Experience crew dynamics and a fresh take on a beloved sci-fi universe – with what-if scenarios that open up new possibilities.
Daedalic Entertainment press release
Demo on the edge of forever
For those who’d like an early taste before the full version of Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknown arrives, there’s that demo to discuss. The title already has a demo available of course, though it’s available on the Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC. And being that this spacefaring game will also be making its landing on the Switch 2, well you know what’s coming next.
Yes, Nintendo’s latest console will be getting in on the action. Publisher Daedalic Entertainment has revealed that the demo will launch some time soon, in early February. There’s no firm date as of yet apparently, though rest assured that said demo will arrive for Nintendo’s Switch 2 before the game does, on February 18th, 2026.
