DC’s Vertigo brand is back once again. This time it’ll be starting off with a showcase of talent from the publisher’s Absolute line.
Absolute has Vertigo
If you’re a comics fan of any years (decades), then you might be well familiar with the Vertigo label from DC Comics. The alt-brand was a massive hit for decades, offering up both big hits and niche favorites, some of which had lasting impacts. And yeah, we mean that in terms of DC’s main continuity. John Constantine anyone?
While it’d long-since desolved, the line was brought back a few years ago. The return was short lived though, as Vertigo was once again collapsed, and folded into the main line in 2019. As you saw in the headline however, that latest shuttering would turn out to be temporary. The publishing giant announced that it was coming back once again, at last fall’s NYCC.
This new rebirth will serve up four initial offerings, starting with a title that’s already running. That book would be The Nice House By the Sea, which will incorporate the Vertigo branding as of February 4th’s issue #7. Hitting stores thereafter will be Bleeding Hearts #1 on February 11th. End of Life #1 will follow on February 18th, with the debut of The Peril of the Brutal Dark #1 rounding things out on February 25th.
As mentioned though, all of the above will have a little talent bleeding over into them, from the Absolute line.
Absolutely
DC’s hit imprint, the Absolute universe debuted a few years ago, and stars an alternate universe of some of the world’s greatest heroes and villains. It’s also home to a collection of top talent, both in terms of writing and visuals. Naturally, it’ll be the latter that’ll be joining Vertigo, with a collection of variant covers.
Covers for the line’s rebirth will feature names behind titles like Absolute Batman, Absolute Wonder Woman, Absolute Superman, and Absolute Martian Manhunter. Scroll down to check out the full slate.

Javier Rodríguez lends his signature atmosphere to The Nice House by the Sea #7, while Nick Dragotta brings bold, expressive energy to his variant cover for Bleeding Hearts #1.
